Looks for suggestions on continuous recording

Postby esullivan » Fri Oct 27, 2017 2:58 pm

I would like to set up my camera to just record, maybe break up every 15 minutes? Has anyone done something like this have some screenshot or howtos or suggestions?

Thanks

Have you got iSpy running and able to see your camera/s at this stage?

Sorry life happened and I forgot about this.

Yes I have the camera up and I have motion recording setup but it's iffy. Records A LOT with no movement. Tried playing with the settings for motion but it's still iffy.

I have a dedicated 500gb drive for recording so I was hoping to just have a continuous recording. Or maybe record for 1 hour then start a new one.

Turn all movement detection off. Turn Timelapse on and define the parameters. I have 14 cameras running at 1fps and saving their files after every 6 hours. Filenames are defined and so very easy to manage into folders. Turn grabs off also or you'll end up with 275gazillion-trillion files and your server will spit sparks and go to sleep....

On the 'Recording' tab set recording mode to no recording. Tick the timelapse box. Set movie interval to 1 second (or however often you wish to have the frames apart). Set images interval to 0 seconds. Set Save every to however long you want the video - I save mine every 360 minutes. Set the frame rate to 10. Pretty simple.
