Windows XP installation fails

Postby NellaSabotero » Sun Aug 27, 2017 12:48 pm

Hy. I downloaded the version for Windows XP 32bits 6.5.8.0 but the installer crashes immediately. I removed the firewall as well as the antivirus, but the installer crashes in the same way. I have windows XP service pack 3. Should I install something before iSpy? Does it need extra libraries/dll? Suggestions are welcome.

A few thing you might want to check:

platform - 32 vs 64 bit
antivirus
upgrade to Win7 an option? =)

If all fails you can install on one machine and "transplant" the install into your target system; I found that if you copy a few directories and import registry keys from a working install onto a target system iSpy will work just fine.

Directories
C:\Program Files\iSpy
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\iSpy

Registry keys
HKCU\Software\iSpy
HKCU\Software\iSpy64

The catch obviously is you need to have at least one Windows machine on which to install iSpy, and I bet the file layout on the target system will have to mirror the source.
