Running iSpyServer as a Service WS2K8R2

Postby EchoHeadache » Mon Jul 07, 2014 7:18 pm

Anyone able to accomplish this?

I'm using Windows Server 2008 R2. I tried using srvany.exe and sc.exe; create a service for srvany.exe and add iSpyServer.exe as the application Parameter but it will not load.

I also tried 3rd party software Service - O - Matic from http://www.kwakkelflap.com and while it will show the service is running, the server does not appear.

What kind of dependencies does this have? I need to get this running as a service so that it may start with windows without logging in. I see the "as a service" option as requested 3 years ago and has never been implemented so I can't imagine the devs are going to scramble to get this feature available.

Hello the main issue with it is that ispy needs access to local usb webcam devices which it can only get if it's running in user mode.

That is understandable, and I can see why attempting to add that feature would be a failure, but I'm using IP cameras. So for my specific scenario, has anyone been able to get it to run as a service?

this is an important feature for people who use ip cams, because the server will use a lot less resources since it doesn't have to display the connected cameras, just stream to viewers. I am in the same boat and need this option.

I am pretty sure that "Active Webcam" from pysoft can runs as service and supports USB cameras. So if they can do it, it must be possible.

Any resolution for this, I am also wanting to install multiple IP cameras on Win Server 2008. I can't have it login to a user every time it boots.

Is there any updates on this issue?
